United Way welcomes Director of Corporate and Community Engagement!

May 28, 2019, Traverse City, MI – UWNWMI is proud to announce and welcome Sara O’Hara as the Organization’s Campaign Engagement Director. O’Hara will be responsible for growing and strengthening UWNMI’s relationship with businesses and employee market segments within those organizations as well as residential donors.

“We are thrilled to have Sara onboard, she’ll bring a fresh perspective and approach on local relationship development,” said Ranae McCauley, Executive Director at UWNWMI. “Sara has demonstrated ability to harvest the limitless options the five-county service area offers to strengthen residents and families.

She joins the United Way team most currently from United Way of Sheboygan County (UWSC) located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It was there that O’Hara served as Director of Community Impact working with the Community Action Team to invest several millions of dollars into the nonprofit community to meet the strategic goal of producing collective impact outcomes. During her successful tenure at UWSC she directed all community impact and investment efforts, specifically targeting focus areas intentionally designed by the Board of Directors.

Before moving to Wisconsin, O’Hara had successfully worked with several local nonprofit organizations including: Northwest Michigan Head Start, Grand Traverse Pavilions, and Traverse City Area Public Schools. “I am excited to be home again in Northwest Michigan, especially as a member of the UWNWMI team in an effort to bring real, positive, and sustainable change to residents in our

five-county service area,” she said.
