Board Recruitment

The United Way Volunteer Center and NorthSky Nonprofit Network have joined forces to help nonprofit agencies recruit and support board members.  We will minimize research time to identify and recruit qualified candidates with specific skills.  Improve access to committed, enthusiastic volunteers with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests and secure board candidates who are trained and background checked.

Non Profit Agencies:

To post a board/committee vacancy on our website, you must first have an agency profile on 1800Volunteer. If you already have an agency account, simply sign in and create a new volunteer opportunity for the board position.  At the conclusion of every NorthSky Nonprofit Network workshop, “Board Governance education series”, applications will be emailed to prospective board members and along with resumes will be forwarded to you.  This will allow your organization to review the applications of all workshop attendees and directly recruit those individuals whose skills and interests best match your requirements.  We request that you notify us when a position has been filled. 

Prospective Board Members:

Individuals who have attended “Board Governance Education Series” will be able to search for board/committee vacancy postings on United Way's 1-800-volunteer web site.  If an individual is interested in a particular vacancy, he/she will be able to indicate interest in the position through an email link.
